This is not by me! Credits to youssef93 on bhw.
Thought I would post this here as most of you probably didn't/wont see this on bhw.
Quick Note:
- There will be a number of "hidden gems" inside this post for people
who actually use their brains. I will not spoon feed anybody but will
give you the very "heart" of the method by which we can add a gazillion
different twist and expand it easily.
Requirements:
- You're expected to have a basic knowledge of how torrents work and how
to upload and download them. If not, just Google some free guides for
help.
- Hosting account and domain is a plus although you can easily set this
up on a blogspot, web 2.0 site or free subdomain & hosting.
- If at the end of the thread you're thinking "hmmm isnt that common
sense?" or "okay...then"? Then you've most probably missed something so
you might wanna reread
- A VPS would help you crazily scale up this method.
The method:
For this method you will be downloading popular content from file
sharing sites, converting them to torrents and uploading them to popular
torrent websites. There's no password protecting .rar archives or any
of those things that get your torrents deleted very fast from popular
websites.
Let's go through the steps by example. First we need something popular
but not yet shared on popular torrent sites. I find the movie and TV
niche to be very hard in this area as anything you can mostly think of
would already be uploaded and well seeded by the big guys. So niches to
look into: Gaming, Ebooks and apps (but then again you dont wanna go
after a popular adobe product that is already shared). For the software
niche, you can simply search CNET (download.com) for popular download
then go to thepiratebay.org and search for the software there. You wanna
go after software that either: aren't shared yet or are shared but
poorly seeded or are shared but you can add something to it (example:
new version, better crack..etc). So you know it's popular, and you know
it isn't shared yet (or meets the other criteria). Now you go search for
a full version of the program by googling something like "product name
rapidshare" (without quotes) or going to your favorite warez site to
find it.
Now what you choose here is extremely important and you must research it
well and match it to the criteria and advises given because your choice
can make or break this whole thing. For this example, I'm gonna go with
ESET's NOD32 Antivirus. Now I don't even know if it meets any of the
criteria and I don't think so but I'm trying to make a point here so
bare with me. So I download its full version, repack it in a .rar
(without any passwords or anything) and include a message such as "Enjoy
the full version of this antivirus! I wasn't sure if people would
prefer the antivirus alone or the full security package. For complete
security you might wanna download ESET Smart Security which is basically
an all in one set and forget solution! Not just an antivirus, but
firewall, antispyware..etc Email me at (your email) if you need this and
think I should upload this too". You'll include this in the different
areas. 1) .rar file description 2) torrent description 3) "read me" text
file in the .rar. It's important to include the typical operating
instructions such as "1. Unrar 2. Replace crack, run keygen..etc 3)
Enjoy" and include the above in a "by the way" manner.
If I lost you anywhere don't panic, we'll be wrapping this up and
summarizing everything at the end. So now you know how to choose a
niche, what to upload and what you need to do before uploading. If up
till now you did this correctly, you've got the traffic part of this
method pretty much covered. And probably covered for a long, long time
(I just checked my old torrents dated 2010 and they're still up and
running till this very moment on TPB..Why would they be taken down? More
on that later.)
Some experienced folks in here might already be getting the idea. In a
nutshell, you're gonna setup an autoresponder (easily done in the
settings if you're using gmail or most other providers) and you're gonna
send them to a landing page that has a content locking solution
implemented. They complete the offer, they get access to the content. A
typical example of the autoresponder email would be something along the
lines of "Hi, thanks for your interest in (program or app name here),
I'm trying to find the time to upload (program) on TPB as I've gotten
many requests, but till that happens, it's available for download over
here: LP link".
Now on the landing page, you wanna include information about how ESET
smart security is waaaaaaaaay better than getting just the antivirus and
how they really need it. (You can use the ESET's site comparison tables
for inspiration). Once they click download, the content locker pops up.
Through experience, I found it really useful to get straight to the
point with these kind of landing pages. Try to make it very short and
try to have the download button appear above the fold. Include quick
bullet points, comparison tables, graphics and media, stir clear of any
kind of landing pages resembling clickbank's or other sales pages of IM
products. Just stick to the above and you'll be good.
Alright now the summary.
1. Find niche, main product (the one you'll upload) and supplementary
product (the one you'll use with your landing page) using the criteria
above. Check "Deal Breakers" below for extremely important tips.
2. Upload the main product using the criteria outlined.
3. Setup your autoresponder and your landing pages.
4. Wait for the money to knock your door.
Why is this so powerful?
1. Virtually immune to bans because you're uploading QUALITY STUFF.
2. Crazy conversions and EPCs because the users have learned to trust
you from your previous torrent upload that they had just downloaded.
3. Very highly scalable. More niches, more torrents, more money. And
unlike "spammy" scalable techniques, this scaling actually keeps
building up cause your old torrents stay forever and you keep adding
more, so sky is the limit here.
4. Incredibly long-term. (My torrents are still up and it's been 3 years)
5. Self-maintaining. Your old torrents keep getting seeded forever because again, THEY'RE QUALITY TORRENTS!
Twists:
This method can be twisted in about a gazillion different way. You're
getting an avalanche of torrent traffic from popular websites that have
actually allowed you to, with no hit and run or spam methods. Then you
funnel in the traffic using email ending up with users that already
trust you. Whatever communication you open up with them is entirely up
to you. If you're smart enough you could pick a niche that could
actually provide you targeted traffic. For instance, users who download
Justin Bieber's songs, video clips, concerts...etc are very likely to
complete celebrity related offers that you can email them later. I don't
wanna put everything in this thread so as to leave a chance for the
creative people to add their twists without exposing it all for noobs
who just copy and paste. But with the original method, without any kind
of twists, this would still do wonders for you.
Deal Breakers:
Okay so in this section I will stress on some stuff, with all the steps
involved you might rush one or miss something in another so if this
method does not work for you (or does not work GREATLY because it really
is powerful) then 99.9% the reason is one of those:
1. Your "supplementary" product or download is not tempting enough. For
example, let's say you uploaded Adobe Photoshop. Then in your
descriptions and all you pushed the users to email you if they wanna get
their hands on Adobe Audition. Now maybe the user is an adobe family
fan and is just ecstatic about all adobe products, but this is a long
shot. Instead, Adobe Illustrator would have a better shot. You can maybe
even link them together in the description with something like "Now
that you have Photoshop to retouch photos, you might wanna get your
hands on Illustrator, it helps you design high quality graphics from
scratch, let me know if you want me to upload it (email here)". But even
this might be a long shot. A popular photoshop video training series
might be a better deal. They key here is to try to get as close as
possible to the user's mind. If he or she is downloading this right here
right now, what else could they possibly be dying to download as well
that is linked to this in some way? Get this right and it'll skyrocket
your conversions. Get it wrong you'll probably fail and anything else
won't matter.
2. Shitty writing. The descriptions, your landing page and your
autoresponder email should all be friendly, helpful and as far as
possible from spammy. You already have the major advantage that the user
has downloaded your stuff and is happy that it works, but you can
easily screw things up if you do not follow the landing page /
description / email writing tips above.
3. Main product or supplementary one already on the torrent site. First
thing people will do if you tell them "now that you have this, you can
also get that!!!" is search for it on the torrent site they downloaded
your torrent from. Why bother to email if it's already there? Therefore
if you can convince the user that it's something exclusive that they
NEED IT but can only get it through you, they are much more likely to
just stop searching and email you.
4. Stuff that doesn't work. This is obvious. You should double check the
download you got from your warez site before reuploading. This
shouldn't be a hassle since you'll already be unpacking it for the
repack.
5. SEEEEEEEEEED. VPS helps here. But even if you don't have one, try to
leave torrents for at least 3-5 days in your torrent client to seed. If
they're quality then they'll eventually pick up seeders but if you don't
make sure your torrent "takes off" with this initial push, then it'll
just die. Usually if it doesn't pick up seeders in a few days then it's
probably not popular enough in the first place and you should just move
on.
Did you know that that you can earn money by locking special sections of your blog / site?
